So I recently read the first three books in the Stage Dive Series – Lick, Play, and Lead, and can I just say, Fabulous!
Four stars to each of them! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Book One : LICK
My personal favourite of the three, Lick is the story of the Lead Guitarist, and lyricist of the band, David.
“Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.
Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.”
The waking-up-in-Vegas-with-no-memory-recollections should’ve made the book quite annoying, but o. The contrary, I found it much more appealing, especially the unearthing of all the events, slowly… *wink, wink*
David’s heart is über soft, and that’s one of the facts that made me totally love him.
That said, this book obviously was amazing enough to make me pick up the next two in the series;)
Book Two: PLAY
Totally worth the four stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
“Readers the world over fell in love with sexy drummer Mal in Kylie Scott’s first Stage Dive novel. Now, Kylie Scott is back, and this time it’s bad-boy Mal’s turn to fall in love.
The drummer in a wildly successful rock band, Mal’s never had trouble with the ladies. It doesn’t hurt that he’s sexy as hell with a wicked sense of humor. But as much as Mal loves his ladies, romance and happily-ever-after just isn’t in his set of cards. Until one night, Mal meets the woman of his dreams. But can this cynical rocker ever trust in love?”
One word describes the entire book – crazy. But just like Mal, the Drummer, crazy’s too cute. Tragic at some points, totally makes you adore certain characters, and a certain canine character *grins*
A thumbs up, must read for all romance lovers😊
Book Three : LEAD
Four stars, in spite of and sometimes because of the muleheadedness of Jimmy 🌟🌟🌟🌟
“Stay up all night with the sexy rockers in Stage Dive, the epic New Adult series from New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott, author of Lick and Play.
As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it’s booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble.
Lena’s not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.”
I must say, I enjoyed the first book better than the others, but this one is in no way not worth a read.
I felt that out of the four band members, Jimmy was the one I can most easily picture as an actual rock star – aloof, but with so much buried pain.
Lena was a fun character, I was constantly waiting for both of them to do something more moronic than the other:P
Now, I’m totally waiting for Ben’s story, and an amazing (hopefully) conclusion to the series:)
